What The Secret, Can’t Hurt Me, and Atomic Habits Taught Me About Money

When I was younger, I hated reading. I'd read a page... and I'd already forget what I'd just read. 😅 Nothing stayed. I honestly thought it was "just not for me." But as with everything in life: practice changes everything. Today, I read super fast—in French and English—and above all, I retain, connect, and apply. And these three books have completely changed my outlook on life... and my finances.

The Secret – The Power of What You Believe

This book is often the first one people discover when they're interested in personal development. Some love it, others roll their eyes and criticize it—it really left a mark on me. Why? Because it made me realize that what we believe often becomes our reality.

In the financial world, this translates into phrases like:

"I'm bad with money."

"I'll never be able to save."

"I'll never understand this."

What if you change that inner dialogue? You start believing you're capable, that it's possible... and your brain starts looking for solutions. In financial planning, mindset makes all the difference. Believing you can improve your situation is often the first step.

Can't Hurt Me – Raw Resilience

David Goggings isn't for the faint of heart, but he slapped me in the face... in a good way. This book taught me that our limits are often in our heads, and that we're capable of much more than we think – even when we're going through something difficult.

On the financial side, it really resonated with me.

Because I've seen (and experienced) periods of stress, uncertainty, and discomfort. When you don't have an emergency fund, life insurance, retirement planning, or you're living paycheck to paycheck, the mental strain is real. But like training, it's not the pain that defines us... it's what we choose to do with it.

Atomic Habits – The Little Things That Change Everything

This one is probably one of the books I recommend the most. He made me understand that lasting change doesn't come from a big burst of motivation, but from small, consistent habits.

It's the same with finances:
- Set aside $25 each week;
- Take stock once a month;
- Ask yourself the right questions before spending.
It seems trivial at the time, but when it adds up? It changes everything!
And when you start applying this to savings, financial protection, or even retirement planning, you realize you're much more in control than you thought.

In summary?
These three books helped me see that:
1. What you believe becomes what you experience;
2. You are stronger than you think;
3. Small actions beat big intentions.
And these are exactly the principles I apply in my meetings with the families I help. No judgment. No jargon. Just real, human interaction and tools to help you move forward.

I'm offering you a free 45-minute meeting to help you take stock, answer your questions, and leave with lots of tools.

Write to me if you'd like to take a moment. 🤍
